CC Sabathia pitched flawlessly through the first six innings against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday.  Sabathia had a perfect game with one out in the seventh inning when Brendan Ryan singled to left field.  Sabathia loaded the bases in the eighth inning without recording an out, but the reliable David Robertson was able to get out of the jam by only surrending one run.  Eric Chavez mishandled a potential double-play ball which resulted in the Mariners only run of the game.

Curtis Granderson hit his 28th homer of the season when he hit a solo shot in the fourth inning.  Derek Jeter and Eric Chavez each recorded RBIs.  Mark Teixeira added some insurance with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth.

Mariano Rivera pitched a flawless ninth inning and struck out two batters to record his 26th save of the season.  CC Sabathia struck out 14 hitters as well, while only giving up one hit and one earned run in seven innings of work.  The Yankees improve to 61-40 this season (34-20 at home).  The Mariners fall to 43-60 this season (18-33 on the road).
