Chad Johnson was cut by the Miami Dolphins after he allegedly headbutted his wife.  If Chad Johnson was still a productive player, he'd still have a gig right now.

Chad Johnson was cut by the Miami Dolphins on Sunday shortly after he was released from jail after allegedly headbutting his wife.  Chad Johnson says that his wife is the one who headbutted him.  Color me skeptical, Chad.  That's typically not a trait that females possess when disagreements arise.

The main reason Chad Johnson is no longer a member of the Miami Dolphins is because he's not the player he once was.  Sure, he's a former six-time Pro Bowler.  However, the key word in that sentence is "former."

Chad Johnson only had 15 receptions for 276 yards and one touchdown last season while playing for the New England Patriots.  In the Dolphins' eyes, Johnson's lack of production isn't worth the headache.  A guy who hasn't produced on the field can't headbutt his wife off the field and expect to still have a gig.  If Johnson caught 63 passes for 928 yards and 9 touchdowns like Dez Bryant did last season, he would still be employed.  That's the way it works in the NFL.
