As the Jets officially declined Chris Johnson's option on Saturday, perhaps they were already thinking about the chances of bringing in Buffalo's C.J. Spiller.

It's been no secret that Spiller has already voiced that he would love to play for Chan Gailey again. Now the Jets newly named offensive coordinator, Gailey was the head coach in Buffalo when Spiller was drafted out of Georgia Tech in 2010.

Spiller loved working in Gailey's offense, perhaps it was because he had a career year under the veteran coach.

A lot of this is up to Rex as to whether or not the Bills want to retain the 27-year old running back but upon first sight, it sure appears as if Spiller would like to try his hand in a green uniform.

If Spiller indeed hits the open market, it makes a lot of sense for the Jets to go after him aggressively.
