Today, the University at Albany introduced its newest women's basketball coach, Joanna Bernabei-McNamee. McNamee is the 11th coach in the history of the program. She comes from NAIA power, University of Pikeville, and has also has stints as an assistant at Maryland and West Virginia, among other stops.

She will bring an up-tempo style of play with her to Albany, which is consistent with how the Danes have already been playing under the previous regime.

The Danes have been to five straight NCAA Tournaments and won the program's first game in NCAA play this year when they upset fifth-seeded Florida.

I caught up with Coach Mac today and asked her how her pedigree has prepared for this job, what made the job so attractive, if she feels any pressure inheriting the Danes and we asked her about the Albany Cup rivalry with Siena.
