The University of Virginia baseball team swept through the Charlottesville Regional this weekend. The Cavs knocked off Bucknell in game one before beating Arkansas twice en route to its fifth super regional appearance in the last six years.

Shenendehowa graduate and first-team All-ACC selection Branden Cogswell helped pace the Cavs 3-0 weekend by hitting .273.

Cogswell hit in the leadoff spot in all three games while playing great defense at second base.

Cogswell is projected to be taken in this week’s MLB draft. He joined us on May 15th and you can listen to that interview here.

Virginia will host Maryland in the super regional. The winner of the best two-of-three series will head to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
