Phillies player Cole Hamels pulled off an elaborate prank on the team's beat reporters following a victory.

Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs, Padres and that's just the short list of teams Cole Hamels could be traded to this season. In fact, Hamels has been the center of trade discussions for as far back as last June.

After his current team grabbed a 2-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, local reporters found Hamels' locker completely empty with his nameplate missing. The empty Hamels locker started a frenzy of speculation on Twitter.

The empty locker prank may have fooled some but Hamels will indeed still be a part of Philadelphia's roster, at least for now. The three-time All Star will miss Friday's scheduled start with a right hamstring strain.

Hamels has been one of the lone bright spots for Philadelphia this season, compiling a 5-5 record with a 2.96 ERA. The Phillies have the fewest wins in the MLB, with just 23 through 68 games.
