Maryland shortstop and Columbia High School graduate Kevin Smith is having a very productive summer in the Cape Cod League. Smith was hitting .294 at last check and earned a spot in the league all-star game. The Cape is the most prestigious of summer collegiate leagues and often leads to a professional career.

Smith joined 'Big Board Sports' on Friday's show to talk about his experience on the Cape, what he's heard from pro teams as he's just a year away from being draft eligible, the success on the Cape of former South Troy Dodger teammate Justin Yurchak, and he told the story about how he may actually be a better golfer than a baseball player.

Smith was meeting with Major League teams earlier this week and is going to be drafted in the next two years. Another good year at Maryland and I'd be shocked if he wasn't selected next year.
