Cops run down woodchuck on Troy Golf course

This is just cruel. From the Times Union..

"TROY >> City officials and police are looking into reports that a pair of Rensselaer police officers intentionally ran down an animal while playing in a tournament at the city-owned Frear Park Golf Course.

Rensselaer Mayor Dan Dwyer confirmed Monday afternoon that an investigation is underway into allegations the two as-yet-unidentified officers chased a woodchuck while driving a golf cart and then struck and killed the rodent after it stopped running. Dwyer would not comment further on the alleged incident, which reportedly occurred during a golf outing hosted by the Rensselaer Polcie Department, other than to confirm the investigation"

Think of the mentality of two cops who thought it would be funny to kill an animal. Not only did they kill the woodchuck but made it run for it's life. Although this may seem minor to some killing an animal for fun is just plain sick. Do you want these cops on the streets of Troy? I don't. It's well known that hurting or killing an animal is an indication of more potentially violent things. These cops need to be at the very least suspended without pay.
