The Cortland State baseball team saw its season come to an end on Monday afternoon, losing for the second time at the Division III World Series.

The Red Dragons finished the year at 43-8 after the 5-2 loss to Trinity (Texas). The Red Dragons won the World Series a season ago so it's still a very impressive two-year run for Cortland.

Remember, Niskayuna native Austin Clock was a senior on this Cortland team and was one of the team's top performers. He finished the year with the second highest batting average on the team, hitting .359 with four home runs and 44 RBIs on the year.

He started 47 of the team's 51 games this year and posted an on-base percentage of .443.

Even as an Oswego graduate and a Cortland-rival, I still have appreciation for what the Red Dragons accomplished this season (and last year too). It's extremely impressive and a strong showing for the SUNYAC and the New York region.
