The UAlbany Men's basketball team was upset on their home court last Saturday night by Stony Brook but they might have more hoops in their future this post season. Any chance Albany had of dancing in the NCAA Tournament are gone but there's still other options for the Great Danes. Should they take them?

At points this season Albany looked like "world beaters" holding their own against major powers like Memphis and Louisville but then at the beginning of conference play things went South. The team we all thought would be no lower than a two seed started conference play losing three of the first five. Now they are one and done in the America East Tourney and waiting to see who if any of the three remaining Tournaments will invite them to compete. The NIT will make it's selections March 9 - 11, The CIT actually starts Monday, March 12th and the CBI selects from the non NCAA or NIT teams willing to pay a $50,000.00 entry fee.

I doubt the NIT will invite the Great Danes but if they do I think that's a no brainer. Aside from that I have trouble seeing Albany pay $50k to keep playing so possibly the CBI.
