The University at Albany women's basketball team found out their opponent for the NCAA tournament on Monday night in a celebration on the UAlbany campus.

The 12th-seeded Danes, winners of five straight America East Conference championships, will take on the Florida Gators at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse on Friday at 12 p.m.

For the Danes, it is the highest seed the program has ever received. UAlbany lost last year to Duke in the first round after losing to West Virginia, North Carolina and Texas A&M in previous years.

The Danes are led by all-everything player Shereesha Richards. The school's all-time leading scorer on both the men's and women's side has more than 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career. If the Danes are to pull the upset, they will need to rely on her and Imani Tate to score. UAlbany will also likely need the three-point shooting of Erin Coughlin. The Danes hit just 70 threes this season.
