Danes Edge Bobcats, 58-54
There's a first time for everything, and Tuesday night was no different. It marked the first time in the Division 1 era that UAlbany had beaten Quinnipiac., as Will Brown's team won 58-54 in Hamden, Conn.
The win moves the Danes to 5-3 overall. It was also the first road win of the year for the Purple and Gold.
UAlbany put four players in double-figures including Ray Sanders (12), Joe Cremo (11), and Evan Singletary and Mike Rowley (10 each).
The biggest key to the game was the difference in free-throws. UAlbany attempted 28 while Quinnipiac shot just seven. The Danes struggled from the outside, going 3-11 from three-point range.
The question for UAlbany remains: When will Peter Hooley get going? The leader of the team struggled again, going just 2-10 from the field for five points.
Tuesday was the first of four straight road games for the Danes. They'll play at Holy Cross on Saturday, at Marist on Dec. 9 and then they'll travel to Siena on Dec. 12.
