A big blow for the University at Albany football team (2-2) on Tuesday...

Gontarek was the Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Rookie of the Year a season ago after leading the Great Danes with a team-high nine total touchdowns. He was named the CAA Rookie of the Week four times a season ago and was also named FCS Freshman of the Week once.

Gontarek is the big play threat for quarterback DJ Crook and now the Danes don't know how long they'll be without him.

Thus far this season, Gontarek is second on the team with 16 catches. He has a team-leading two touchdown receptions.

It's a huge loss for the Danes' program, who rely on Gontarek in the punt game as well. It's also not good news for head coach Greg Gattuso's program which is trying to get on the national stage.

On Tuesday, Gattuso didn't want to speak about his suspended star.
