The UAlbany men's basketball team had its winning streak halted at 13 games on Tuesday night, falling to rival Stony Brook at SEFCU Arena by a score of 59-56.

Trailing 57-56 with under 30 seconds to play, the Danes got a great look at a three-pointer from Ray Sanders, but it rimmed out. Down 59-56 with less than 10 seconds to play, UAlbany got a decent look from Evan Singletary, but his game-tying attempt was off the mark as well.

The loss sends the Danes to 12-1 in America East Conference action and 18-8 overall.

Stony Brook was paced by preseason conference Player of the Year, Jameel Warney. He had 20 points and 11 boards.

Of good note for UAlbany, Peter Hooley played his first game in front of the home crowd since he returned. Hooley left the team on Jan. 17th to return to Australia to be with his mother battling cancer. She passed away on Jan. 30th and he returned last Wednesday night.

He got a great ovation from the SEFCU faithful. He played 17 minutes, scoring three points on 1-4 shooting.

UAlbany will play again on Friday night at SEFCU Arena at 7 p.m.
