Albany native and New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis left Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins after tearing his ACL  in the third quarter. Lewis will miss the remainder of the season.

After being a journeyman for the past 5 seasons, Lewis was a major impact player for the New England Patriots offense. Lewis caught 36 passes for 388 yards and two touchdowns, behind only Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski for most yards.

"It's such a physical game and it's tough to lose such a special player," quarterback Tom Brady said. "I hope he's OK. I don't know exactly what it is but we're all hoping for the best."
