Congratulations to Albany High football coach Joey DiPiazza, who is honored today as a recipient of the "Dove Men's Caring Coach of the Year." He's one of four recipients nationally.

DiPiazza helped the Falcons win three games in a row to end the season, including their first AA win since 2007.

But more importantly, DiPiazza helped restore community pride and team pride by helping get the Falcons a new athletic facility. He also helped the students achieve in the classroom.

In addition to receiving the award at the celebratory pep rally, Coach DiPiazza and his nominator will receive funding for the Albany High School football team and a trip to Atlanta, Georgia in December to be honored by the College Football Hall of Fame. During the special ceremony, Dove Men+Care Deodorant and the Hall will unveil a new exhibit dedicated to each of the four winning coaches of the “Caring Coach of the Year” award that will be on display for the next year.

For the second straight year, Dove Men+Care Deodorant has partnered with the College Football Hall of Fame to identify outstanding coaches across the nation and honor them with the “Caring Coach of the Year” award. Of hundreds of nominations from fans across the country, the brand has selected four youth and high school football coaches who most strongly display the award’s criteria – passion, determination, respect, support and encouragement – and make a lasting impression on the lives of their players and within their communities.
