Don Baylor Breaks Leg on Ceremonial First Pitch [VIDEO]

In sports, you expect injuries. You even expect gruesome injuries.  You know that at some point during the course of play, you’re going to come across a fracture or a muscle tear so grotesque that it leaves you watching through the fingers you’ve reflexively thrown over your face.

You don’t expect it, though, during a ceremonial first pitch.

But as they say about baseball, everyday you have a chance to see something you’ve never seen before, and on Monday’s opening day, we did.

Because on Monday’s opening day we saw Angels hitting coach Don Baylor step up to catch the ceremonial first pitch and suffer a horrible injury.  See the unfortunate video here.
