Eagles Cut Jason Babin
Last season Jason Babin made serious late run at Michael Strahan’s single season sack record, recording 18 while playing in the Eagles’ wide-9 system. Today, he is looking for work.
Earlier this afternoon, during a press conference, head coach Andy Reid announced that the team released their high priced star. Babin had only recorded 5.5 sacks this season and had come under some fire after being critical of the Philadelphia fans. During his presser, Reid commended Babin for his services and wished “him all the best as he continues his career.”
Despite the fact that they lack an effective rush, early reports are that the New York Jets will not be placing a claim on the defensive end.
