Jim Kelly was in a hospital bed one year ago. On the NFL Draft stage Friday night, Chicago gave the NFL a moment that fans won't soon forget.

Before Kelly even got to the podium to announce the 50th overall pick, the fans stood up and gave the Hall of Famer a lengthy standing ovation.

"If I can just take a second and thank everybody all over the world," said Kelly, "especially my NFL family, for all your prayer this last year. This time last year I was in the hospital, not knowing if I'd be here today. Because of all the prayers and the well wishes and the love I got from my NFL family - thank you, thank you, may God bless you."

The best news? Backstage, Kelly told reporters that he is officially cancer free.

With the pick, the Bills selected Florida State cornerback Ronald Darby, who was the ACC's rookie of the year in 2012.
