Despite losing two of the first three games against the Baltimore Brigade this season, the Albany Empire held one important edge over the first place team in the AFL: point differential in those games. Wins, losses and aggregate scoring are crucial and Albany had scored two more points than Baltimore going into Saturday night's game.

Only one thing is certain with two games left in the regular season; the Washington Valor will finish in last place and will be the fourth seed in the playoffs. After that, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Albany are all still alive for the top seed.

With the Week 11 win over the Brigade, the Empire now have the same score as the Philadelphia Soul at 6-4, one game behind 7 and 3 Baltimore. The Empire will play one of their final two games on the road (at Washington next week) and one at home (vs Philadelphia on July 7). They'll hope for some help in the next two weeks in order to take over the top spot in the AFL.
