Eric LeGrand gave a memorable speech after receiving the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at the 2012 ESPYs.

Former Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand delivered an inspiring speech during the 2012 ESPY Awards.  LeGrand gave a powerful speech about how he felt on the football field when he sustained an injury against Army in 2010 that left him paralyzed from the neck down.  LeGrand didn't know if he was going to survive the injury when he was lying motionless on the field nearly two years ago.

Throughout the whole ordeal, LeGrand has maintained a very positive attitude.  I always admire people who approach the problems they encounter with a much better attitude than I would if I was in the same situation.  LeGrand has inspired many people by showcasing an upbeat approach to his current medical condition.  LeGrand recently signed an endorsement deal with Subway.  He also signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are coached by former Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano.
