John Schmeelk is Mr Do everything for the Giants. He write, reports and produces. We reached out to John to get a better understanding as to why the Giants stayed at 23 and took Tight End Evan Engram out of Ole Miss instead of trading up to get Alabama Tight End OJ Howard. Howard was expected by many to be picked inside the top ten picks but fell all the way to 19 where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took him. John Schmeelk believes that the option of trading up wasn't there for the Giants. By the time Jerry Reese and the Giants war room realized Howard was falling teams ahead of them had no interest in sliding back because of all the great talent that was also sliding back in the draft.

Schmeelk also makes sense of the rest of the Giants draft and makes some pretty interesting points when it comes to the Giants offensive line. Garret Bolles and Ryan Ramczyck who were both taken in the first round of the draft are both older than Ereck Flowers and Bobby Hart.
