Fab Melo Ruled Ineligible For NCAA Tournament
If you’ve filled out you’re bracket in pencil, you better grab your eraser. If you filled out your bracket in pen, then go print out a new one. In a stunning twist of events, Syracuse’s starting center Fab Melo has been ruled ineligible for the NCAA tournament.
The 7-foot center missed a handful of games during the regular season due to academic issues, and speculation is that that is the reason he’ll be sitting again. The Orange released the following statement via their website: “given University policy and federal student privacy laws, no further details can be provided at this time.”
Melo was a key contributor to Syracuse’s 30-2 record this year, averaging 7.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks a game. The Orange are the #2 overall seed in this year’s tournament.
