Even though no Section II teams won the New York State Federation Tournament of Champions this weekend at UAlbany, the Albany-area has a lot to be proud of.

Scotia (A), Albany Academy (A), and Shen (AA) represented the Capital Region well in the tournament -- and Scotia and Shen both went undefeated en route to winning New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) championships. Regardless of the Federation loss, that distinction cannot be taken away.

It was a fun ride to follow all season and it was a great product on the floor this weekend.

Though Scotia saw its 53-game winning streak end against Canisius in the semifinals (68-63, OT), the Tartans proved themselves to be a great representative of Albany basketball.

Joe Cremo was the best player on the floor on Friday morning -- and the relationship and bond that the Tartans have is what high school basketball is all about.

Albany Academy won their semifinal game before falling in the final to Canisius, but Hameir Wright instantly solidified himself as the next big thing in Albany hoops.

Congratulations to all Section II participants, we can't wait to watch again in '15-16.
