It was a hard fought victory for Roger Federer at the US Open Today.  Marin Cilic gave Federer quite the scare after taking the second round 4-6, but Federer was able to hold things together for the third and fourth to win 6-3,4-6,6-4,6-2.  He now moves onto the fourth round.

The big turning point came when Cilic was given a warning by the umpire after taking to long to serve.  He gave up his serve after a double fault after the warning, and from that point on it seemed like smooth sailing for Federer.   Unlike in the first couple matches, Federer didn't give Cilic a chance to bounce back and closed out the remaining sets.

Federer will now face Janko Tipsarevic on Tuesday.
