Feelings of Nostalgia Surface as Patroons Return to Albany

The Albany Patroons are back, but they will never duplicate the popularity they had back in the mid 80’s. That was a special time when the Patroons were the top local sports story. But now with popularity of Siena and UAlbany men’s basketball, that won’t be the case the second time around. But having said that, former Patroon player and coach Derrick Rowland is the perfect head coach and GM to run the show, and basketball is king around here. If they put a good product on the court, fans will show up at the Washington Avenue Armory to watch.
