Ference Delivers Nine Goals To Lead Schenectady Lacrosse

Kia Ference collected nine goals and two assists to power Schenectady past Cohoes, 18-6, in a Capital District Women's Lacrosse League game on Wednesday.

In Suburban Council softball, Columbia got the best of Shenendehowa, 1-0. It marked the Plainsmen's first loss of the season.

Caitlin Cooper (Columbia) and Erica Daigle (Shenendehowa) were hooked up in an excellent pitchers duel.

Another close game in the SC, Bethlehem outscored Niskayuna, 1-0, in 11 innings.

In the Big 10, Troy edged Schenectady, 1-0 with Victoria Hallett driving in the lone run with a single.

Amanda Gatt tossed a one-hitter and fanned 13 as Voorheesville downed Cobleskill-Richmondville, 3-0, in the Colonial Council.

Waterford-Halfmoon's Ashley Lefebvre silenced Rensselaer, 10-0, in the Central Hudson Valley League with a no-hitter and 14 strikeouts.

In baseball, Zach Milton had a one-hitter and Nick McKinney clouted a two-run homer to lead Glens Falls over Hudson Falls, 8-0, in the Foothills Council.

Nick Pascarella delivered five hits including a grand slam and five RBI as Schalmont won over Watervliet, 14-4.

Will Brooking was at his best with a one-hitter and 13 strikeouts to propel Rensselaer past Waterford-Halfmoon, 10-0, in a CHVL test.
