Firing Phil Jackson: Perhaps Too Little, Too Late from James Dolan
Owner James Dolan made the right move when he fired Phil Jackson, he just waited too long to make it. Dolan should have fired Jackson after two years of bad decisions. Hard to believe how lousy Jackson was as president of the Knicks. When Jackson was hired, everyone thought it was a great hire by Dolan. But all that was based on was his 11 NBA Championships as a head coach. We found out very quickly that one has nothing to do with the other.
With a vacancy at the team president position, what will Dolan do to fill it? David Griffin is on the open market and the former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager makes perfect sense for the Knicks. The other attractive options on the table would both require compensation to Toronto or Milwaukee.
