The Giants first round pick out of the University of Miami inked pen to paper after mini-camp this week after representing himself and choosing not to use an agent.

After practice concluded on Thursday, the rookie shared the positive news with all Giants fans.

"It was great," said Flowers. "I talked to them, and got a deal done. Everything went good. It was smooth."

Getting a deal done with the 6-foot-6, 329-pound offensive lineman came at a perfect time for the Giants. It's comforting news to hear that Flowers is in a good mental state, because he will be relied on early and often to get the job done as the Giants left tackle.

Just recently, the Giants starting LT, Wil Beatty, underwent season ending pectoral surgery, so the original plan of letting Flowers ease into the pros has been scratched.

Flowers has been taking practices day by day just trying to absorb as much technique and information as he can.

"I have made a lot of progress" he said. "I have a better understanding of the plays. I got a lot more comfortable out there."

Lets hope Flowers isn't just blowing smoke, because for the Giants offense to be legit this year, it starts with the offensive line.
