It's finally over! The Jets have come to terms with quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick on a 1-year/$12 million fully guaranteed contract. The agreement ends the stalemate between the two teams that was perhaps the biggest story of NFL free agency.

There is no timetable yet as to when Fitzpatrick will join the team at training camp which they opened on Wednesday.

Fitzpatrick had a stellar season last year for the Jets as he set the record for most passing touchdowns in a season for the franchise with 31, while only throwing 15 interceptions. Fitzpatrick also posted a QBR of 88 percent; the highest of his career when he plays 16 games.

The Jets finished last season with a tough loss to Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills that eliminated them from postseason contention. They look to get past a tough schedule in 2016 and get back to the playoffs; Fitzpatrick likely gives them the best chance over longtime struggling quarterback Geno Smith.
