Some bad news for the first place New York Mets, as utility infielder Wilmer Flores is heading to the disabled list with a left hamstring injury.

"It's definitely frustrating, but what are you going to do?" said Flores via Rubin's story, who is hitting 180 with one homer and two RBIs in 50 at-bats.

Flores is a guy that I wanted to see the Mets play every day this year. I didn't like the move to get Asdrubal Cabrera, who had almost identical numbers to Flores a season ago, but is six years older.

Sean Gilmartin, a reliever, has been called up to take Flores' space on the roster. Why?

That's because Steven Matz is dealing with elbow soreness and will not make his next start.

Right now, there is no cause for concern with Matz, but given the injury history of Zack Wheeler and Matt Harvey, Mets fans could be holding their breath.
