Demoted by the NY Islanders 2 weeks ago to the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers 70 million dollar goaltender came to Albany Friday night and stopped the Devils streak of getting points in games at 5 with a 4-2 win.

The Devils back on familiar ice for the 1st time since February 18th drew a crowd of 2,900 at the Times Union Center. The paying customers watched the former #1 draft pick stop 26 shots.

The game was tied after 2 thanks to Albany goals by Harri Pesonen and Joe Whitney. The Sound Tigers countered with tallies from Nino Niederreiter and Aaron Ness. However it was the 2 goals by Sean Backman in the 3rd period that won the game. the 1st came at 15:36 and the 2nd with the net empty as Albany pulled goaltender Keith Kinkaid for the extra skater. Kinkaid himself was just returning from his stint wiht the New Jersey Devils. Kinkaid also made 25 saves.

The game also marked the 1st of 3 straight over the weekend at home for Albany. they came into the game in 9th place in the eastern conference. The top 8 make the playoffs. Saturday it is the Springfield Falcons making a trip in the the TU Center...Face off is 5:05 P.M.
