The NBA free agent world was rocked when DeAndre Jordan swapped his commitment from the Mavericks in favor of the Clippers. Former NFL head coach Jim Fassel says that Mark Cuban and Co. should be thankful.

"Personally, I’d say I’m glad that I don’t have the guy," said Fassel, with Armen and Levack on 104.5 The Team (at the 8:15 mark). "He doesn’t have any character. What’s to say he wouldn’t slip something on us again?"

It's not the first time that a verbal commitment has been swapped and that a team has been left hanging. It certainly won't be the last. A 'change of heart' is not limited to the game of basketball either.

"There’s always gamesmanship in that. If the guy had committed to us and said that we had a verbal agreement, ‘We’re done, you’re good, you’re coming here’, and then pulled a escape and went somewhere else?

"Stuff like that goes down. My attitude is that it probably works out for the best that he’s not here with us."

Armen and Levack are heard weekdays from 3 to 7p ET on 'Your Home for New York Sports' 104.5 The Team.
