Luke Goldstock of Niskayuna is a major reason why the North Carolina Tar Heels are sitting as the No. 2 seed in the ACC lacrosse tournament, which starts today in Chester, Penn.

The second-seeded Tar Heels will take on the No. 3 Syracuse Orange, who are anchored by goalie and Shenendehowa graduate Bobby Wardwell, tonight at 8 p.m.

Goldstock leads the Tar Heels with 43 goals on the season and earlier this season spent time on the Tewaaraton Award Watch list. The Tewaaraton Award is the Heisman Trophy of college lacrosse and is given to the nation's best overall player. It's the award that brothers Lyle and Miles Thompson of UAlbany split a season ago.

Goldstock joined our own Brady Farkas today to talk about the matchup with the Orange, Lyle Thompson's NCAA Division 1 scoring record, what he misses most about the Albany area, the Niskayuna-ACC pipeline, and what it will be like to play with former Niskayuna teammate Aidan O'Brien next season.
