Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman said this week that he didn't like being associated with the word 'thug' because that word was related to the N-word.

"I think it can be," said former New York Giants tight end Derek Brown. "I'm not going to say it always is."

Brown, a Capital Region native, called into the Team after hearing midday host Armen Williams talking about Sherman.

The former Giants brought up Bill Romanowski and J.J. Watt, both white and boisterous defensive players. Would we classify either of those guys as a thug?

Brown also brought up his memories from college about how his coaches would not allow them to talk to the media after the game with all the emotions still circling from the game.

"This is a rare occasion. I thought he handled well apologizing and what he said the next week."
