Allan Houston spent 12 years in the NBA, including nine with the New York Knicks. He was a star in New York, helping the Knicks advance to their last NBA Finals.

Now? Houston is the Assistant General Manager of the New York Knicks, but he also is the GM of the Westchester Knicks - the Knicks affiliate in the D-League.

Jimmer Fredette has been on fire for Westchester since joining the team at the beginning of the season. Jimmer scored 25 points, grabbed 11 boards and dished out nine assists on Saturday - and then followed it up on Sunday with a 27-point performance.

I spoke to Houston today about what Jimmer has brought to the team in Westchester, and about if/how his game has evolved since coming to the D-League.

Furthermore, the D-League Showcase is going on this week. I asked Houston if its inevitable that Jimmer ends up with at least a 10-day contract out of the showcase.

Finally, I asked Houston if its an odd position knowing that he works for the Knicks, but that the players he's helping develop could be picked up by any NBA team.
