Former Tri-City ValleyCat Tony Kemp, now a member of the AA Corpus Christi Hooks, earned the No. 1 play on SportsCenter with this diving play in centerfield last night.

Kemp was a member of the 2013 ValleyCats, hitting .282 in 48 games. He was on the ValleyCats team that won the New York-Penn League title in 2013, and also spent time on the Lancaster (High-A) team that eventually won the California League title in 2014.

The former Vanderbilt Commodore played second base for Tri-City, but it serves him well to get good in the outfield, as Jose Altuve figures to lock down second base in Houston for years to come.

This type of play has always been one of my favorite "web gems." It's extremely tough to go left at full speed, battle the lights, the tail of the ball, and extend. Furthermore, it's great because of how risky it is. If that ball gets by Kemp, it's an easy triple.

Kudos, Tony.
