The American League Gold Glove winners were announced on Tuesday, and Houston Astros standouts Jose Altuve (2B) and Dallas Keuchel (P) took home awards.

The cool thing about that for you local baseball fans? Both of them played for the Tri-City ValleyCats.

Both players were members of the 2009 'Cats before working their ways up to stardom with the Astros. The two were integral parts of getting the Astros to the playoffs in 2015.

For Keuchel, it's his second consecutive Gold Glove Award, while Altuve gets the honor for the first time.

Keuchel is also up for the American League Cy Young Award. Alutve won last year's batting title and stolen base crown in the AL.

The following comes from the Astros website:

Keuchel led all AL pitchers in total chances (72) and assists (53) while ranking fourth among AL pitchers in putouts (18). He made just one error all season, for a .986 fielding percentage, giving him two errors in 138 chances over the last two seasons combined.

Altuve led all Major League second baseman in 2015 in fielding percentage (.993), committing only five errors in 669 chances.
