The capital region has a recent run of success when it comes to having local products selected in the MLB Draft. In the 2015 picture above, Niskayuna's own Garrett Whitley was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays' thirteenth overall. Just last season Ian Anderson was the third overall pick in the draft by the Atlanta Braves. In 2014, Jeff Hoffman was a top ten pick as well as he was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays.
