Galal Cancer used to star here locally for Christian Brothers Academy (CBA). Then he starred for Cornell University - and now he stars for Kent State University.

Cancer traveled an interesting road to Kent State...

He played his first two years at Cornell. Then some credit issues forced him to sit out his junior year to take extra classes. He played as a junior (basketball-wise) for the Big Red as he finished his senior year academically.

As a graduate student though, he had a year of extra eligibility left, and he elected to play that year for the Golden Flashes.

Cancer joined us today to talk about that situation and to talk about the differences between the Ivy League and the MAC. We also asked if he considered playing his last year at Siena or UAlbany and what its like to be a part of the emerging Albany basketball alumni who are playing at the D-I level.
