When will the experts learn..They keep harping about how the Rangers struggle to score, and that's true. But these rangers and this Cup this year is about gritty not pretty. Grimey not slippery. The rangers needed the Grit and the Grime in beating the NJ Devils in game 1 at MSG 1-0. The score really wasn't indicitive of the game, until the 3rd.

In my view Jersey outplayed the Rangers through 2 but couldn't crack the great wall of Henry! Henrik Lundqvist the sure fire winner of this years Vezina for top netminder stopped all including 5 great short handed chances, 3 in 1 flurry by Zach Parise!

The Rangers wasted a few good chances in the 1st 40 minutes trying to make the pretty pass. Neither team could crack a power play until the Rangers hung 1 up in the 3rd. Rookie Chris Kreider got the credit for that by the play was made off a sharp pass by Artem Anisimov. An enpty netter finished off the scoring.

It seems to me the Devils have more slick to their game then the Rangers. Players like Parise, Elias, Kovalchuk and the exciting former Albany Devil Adam Henrique.

Henrique was called up early this season from Albany and has been solid. He can dish the disc for sure. But his slick passing resulted in frustration as the King stoned the Rangers hated rival. Lundqvist stopped all of Jersey's 22 shots. he stopped parise short handed in a fast flurry of 3 straight shots from Parise while down a man in the 2nd period.

The Rangers controlled the 3rd period and actually outshot Nj for the night with 28 on Brodeur. The Devs went 0-4 with the man advantage.

Game 2 of this Holland Tunnel hatred takes place back at the Garden Wednesday Night!
