Looking for another upset over the favored Patriots, the New York Giants wilted on Sunday afternoon due to questionable playcalling, losing 27-26 to the reigning Super Bowl champs.

Trailing 26-24 with just over two minutes to play, the Giants had the ball in a position to score. The Patriots had just one timeout.

Rather than run the ball to the two-minute warning and then force the Pats to take a timeout on the first play after the two-minute warning, the G-men elected to pass on first down. That incompletion didn't reach the two-minute warning, so the Pats got the Giants to run a second down play without running clock, either.

On third down, following another incompletion, Eli Manning dropped back to pass again, rolled right, and then got down. But the Patriots called timeout and forced the Giants to kick a go-ahead field goal with plenty of time left.

The Giants led 26-24 and gave the ball to Tom Brady, who converted a fourth-and-ten en route to setting up a game-winning Stephen Gostowski field goal.

The Giants are now 5-5 atop the NFC East.
