Giants Get First Win, Top Redskins
Eli Manning was interception-free, Reuben Randle had seven catches for 116 yards, and the defense forced three turnovers as the New York Giants stopped a two-game losing streak with a 32-21 win over the Washington Redskins.
The win moves the Giants to 1-2 and a loss drops Washington to 1-2 as well.
The Giants got on the board early when running back Rashad Jennings, playing on the punt team, blocked a punt out of the endzone for a safety. It was the Giants first safety in the regular season in four years.
With a 2-0 lead in hand, the Giants forced their first turnover when Prince Amukamara intercepted a Kirk Cousins pass deep in Washington territory.
The G-Men converted that turnover into a touchdown and a 9-0 lead. A Josh Brown field goal made it 12-0 before Washington kicked a field goal to make it 12-3.
Josh Brown kicked another field goal to make it 15-3 as the Giants struggled to score touchdowns.
Leading 18-6 in the fourth quarter, the Giants put the game out of reach when Manning found Odell Beckham Jr. for a a TD.
The Giants will take on the Bills next week.
