For the 2nd straight time the New York Giants have said goodbye quickly to the Wide Receiver who made the big play to win a Superbowl. Mario Manningham made the incredible catch along the sidelines to propel the Giants to a Super Bowl title and now he takes his talents to San Francisco 49ers, where if things break well for the bay area team he will be catching passes from Peyton Manning.

Super bowl 42 hero David Tyree lasted only 1 more season with the GMen after his amazing catch helped the Ginats win SB 42. Now it is Manningham leaving the Giants right after his catch helped defeat the Patriots in SB 45. Reports say Manningham upon passing his physical will ink a 2 year deal.

Losing Manningham will barely create a ripple as the Giants are blessed with an abundance of talent at the WR spot. Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz make a formidable 1-2 punch and the Giants just resigned Domenik Hixon who was hurt for virtually of  last season. In fact Hixon has played just 2 games the last 2 years because of knee injuries. The Giants also recently resigned another player who has been hurt with knee injuries in DB Terrell Thomas and said goodbye to Aaron Ross.

Back to Manningham. He caught only 39 passes this last season as Cruz emerged as the Giants 2nd big play WR so Mannghams loss isn't dramatic. Manningham was drafted by the Big Blue in the 3rd round of the 2008 draft (seems a lot longer then that). He has caught 160 passes in his 4 years in the NFL.

The 49ers having lost to the Giants in the NFC title game in which Manningham caught a Td pass for NY has bolstered their thin Wide Receiver depth signing Randy Moss to a 1 year deal. If San Fran is able to pull off the Manning signing this team is the odds on favorite entering the 2012 regular season. Mannings choice could be known by Monday or Tuesday. Seems the 3 teams in the running, and it changes slightly every day so it seems is SF, Denver, and the Tennessee Titans.
