Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and the Giants agreed on a one year deal on Tuesday night, and hours before, offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz reacted to the anticipated reunion:

"It’s good news," said Schwartz, to "Armen and Levack", on 104.5 The Team. "Like I said all along, when he is ready to go, we can use him. If they determine that time is this week or next week, whenever that is, everyone will be happy to welcome him back and have him get after it."

The Giants will apply for a two-week roster exemption and Pierre-Paul could be available for Week 10 or Week 12.

"He’s a franchise player for a reason, and his talent didn’t disappear overnight. So I hope he can come back and contribute as soon as possible."

The most glaring weakness for the NFC East-leading Giants has been their lack of pass rush. Pierre-Paul is a much needed piece for the G-Men.

Giants offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz joins "Armen and Levack" every Tuesday at 5:15p ET, sponsored by McLane Food Service, on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio.
