After having just lost to the Patriots - and having missed out on a chance to bring back Super Bowl memories - the New York Giants have conjured up those memories today by re-signing former wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.

Nicks played with the Giants from 2009-2013 and was on the Super Bowl team in 2011. He caught 27 touchdowns for the G-Men across those five seasons and was a staple at wideout.

He's a veteran receiver but he's still just 27-years-old so he has the ability to recapture his old form. He's been a durable receiver throughout his career, having never played less than 13 games in his career.

After leaving the Giants in 2013, Nicks played in all 16 games for the Colts last year. But he started just six and caught just 38 balls and four touchdowns.

With Cruz out for the season, Nicks gives the Giants another option for Eli Manning. If he's anything like he used to be, it could be a steal for Big Blue.
