Goz’s College Football Top 25 (Week 3)
For the second consecutive season I’ll be providing my own personal Top 25 poll each week during the college football season. Oklahoma is really really good-I've said on the air before that Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson seemed under rated heading into the 2017 season. That's no where compared to the lack of respect Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield had to deal with in this preseason. Mayfield finished 3rd in the Heisman voting last year and 4th in the Heisman voting in 2015. The do it all quarterback for the Sooners helped produce a dominating victory for his team over Ohio State on the road with a 386 yard and 3 touchdown performance. Despite not having Bob Stoops, the Sooners look like they can handle anyone in the country.
I'm sorry I doubted USC-The Trojans looked just flat out bad in their Week 1 game against Western Michigan. This week against Stanford, the Trojans looked like a team no one in the country wants to play in the fourth quarter. Believe in the hype for Sam Darnold. In the 18 point victory over the Stanford Cardinal, Darnold threw for four touchdowns while looking every bit of the soon to be stud NFL quarterback. The Trojan team can go as far as the red shirted sophomore can take them.
Don't be Disappointed this Saturday. Still some good matchups- We were spoiled this past weekend with so many good college teams battling in Week 2 of the season. We will not have that type of slate again this week but no need to fear. Get ready for a can't miss game between the defending national champion Clemson Tigers and the defending Heisman winner Lamar Jackson. Last season's Tigers vs Cardinals game was arguably the best of any regular season game in 2016.
