Greig Stire Closes Regular Season With Player Of The Honors

UAlbany sophomore big man Greig Stire was named America East Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Stire helped lead the Great Danes to a 2-0 week, he averaged 17.0 points and 12.5 rebounds. The sophomore's week was full of career records as he recorded his first career double-doubles in wins against UMass Lowell and Hartford.

Stire matched a UAlbany all-time single game record for rebounds with 15. He averaged 7.7 points and 5.9 rebounds this season. His recent boost in play will be much needed, as the Danes look to make another NCAA Tournament run.

UAlbany will open up the America East tournament when they host Hartford on Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m.
