Well, in a bit of a surprise last night, only two people are headed to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown this summer: Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza.

It's been a foregone conclusion that Griffey was headed to the Hall for years, even while he was playing. The only question was how many votes he'd actually reel in:

He broke the previous record held by Tom Seaver (98 percent). He registered 437 out of 440 possible votes. Griffey hit 630 home runs and is one of only two players in the 600 home run club to also have 10+ Gold Glove Awards (Willie Mays).

As for Piazza:

He received 83 percent of the vote. You need 75 percent of the vote to gain election. He is the greatest hitting catcher of all-time, having hit 427 home runs in his career with the Dodgers, Marlins, Mets, A's and Padres.

Induction weekend is July 22-25 in Cooperstown.

I imagine it will be a full crowd.
