Tyler Hynes' time on the ice hasn't been as abundant as his freshman and sophomore seasons when the Albany Academy grad was a regular on the Union shifts, but Hynes' most memorable moment may have come Saturday night in the Mayor's Cup against RPI.

The senior forward and Union head coach Rick Bennett made a deal. If Hynes showed he was serious about getting back on the ice and got into better shape, Bennett would find a role for the Guilderland native in the biggest hockey game of the year in the Capital Region. Both guys met their ends of the bargain and then Hynes went beyond simply getting some playing time; he scored a critical goal for Union in its 4-3 win over RPI.
